Pricing: All prices are hourly, with a three-hour minimum rental.

Constituent Users: Individuals/groups scheduling two or more separate events per fiscal year (July - June) in the Concert Hall.

Rental of the theater at the performance rate includes: Two technicians. Use of backstage areas (dressing rooms, green room) House lighting (standard lighting is a “concert” set up—not all equipment listed is part of the house lighting set up. Additional lighting is charged at a time and equipment rate.) House sound (two (2) ceiling speaker clusters, use of up to three (3) microphones—SM57, SM58 or equivalent. Additional speakers, monitors, microphones and other audio equipment are charged on a per unit per day basis). Music stands and chairs
All other equipment and personnel needs will incur additional charges. See rate sheet for current prices.

Equipment and Services: Any costs incurred for special set-ups or additional equipment (including use of technicians and/or laborers), will be charged to the group named in the contract. Groups selling tickets in the Center and/or anticipating attendance of more than 300 people will be charged for the services of a NOVA police officer for a minimum 4-hour shift.

Technical Staff: You are required to use Center technical staff, except in extremely unusual circumstances. Center management must authorize any use of non-Center staff and a list of said staff, with appropriate credentials, must be submitted at least 72 hours prior to the group’s first use of the building. Center management retains the right to make final decisions on all staffing issues. Center Technical Staff cannot perform duties of Stage Manager in addition to technical duties. Groups should designate their own Stage Manager and Front of House Manager to coordinate with Center staff.

*Non-Profit Rates:  In order to qualify for non-profit rates, groups/individuals must have a current not-for-profit determination letter and ID number from the federal government. Enter this number in the appropriate place on the Space Application Form.  The Schlesinger Center will verify the number before granting groups/individuals non-profit rates.

Sales Tax Exemption Status in the Commonwealth of Virginia:  Not-for-profit status from the federal government is not valid for state sales tax exemption in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  All groups/individuals, no matter where they are geographically located, must have a sales tax exemption letter from the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Taxation to be considered sales tax exempt in Virginia.

Parking: Parking in the Beauregard Street Parking Garage must be arranged at least two weeks prior to your event through Northern Virginia Community College, Alexandria Campus, Parking Services office. Several payment options are available. Call: 703.845.6499.
