          Firing will be with air pistols and
          air rifles only.  A range fee may be

PED 183  OUTDOOR ADVENTURES I                 2cr

          BACKPACKING.  Class will meet on
          campus two Saturdays (Sept. 12 and
          Sept. 19) 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. and take
          a day hike Sept. 26.  Two overnight
          backpacking trips will be on Oct. 3-
          4 and Oct. 17-18.  Students must be
          able to handle the physical rigors of
          backpacking.
          Smoking will not be permitted during
          trips.  Students must supply their
          own transportation.  Trip dates
          dependent on weather conditions.

          This course is designed for self-
          directed students who are motivated
          to exercise on their own but want
          personalized training programs,
          nutritional information, and on-going
          guidance from fitness professionals.
