FINANCIAL AID
NVCC has a student financial aid program to assist you with your educational expenses. This program is sponsored by the federal and state governments and the College. Scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study opportunities are available.

To apply, contact the Financial Aid Information Service on any campus or the College Financial Aid Office. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and selection of a major in a degree or certificate program are necessary to determine eligibility. FAFSA on the Web is available at http://www.nvcc.edu/finance/. You must also meet other federal and state eligibility criteria. (To ensure faster processing, you should write in the College Title IV School Code: NVCC 003727.) While most programs require enrollment for at least 6 semester credits, a limited number of programs are available to students enrolled for fewer than 6 semester credits.

The NVCC Student Financial Aid Services brochure provides a complete description of the programs and application process for student aid. A copy may be obtained on each campus, the College Financial Aid Office, or on the College Web site at http://www.nvcc.edu/finance/brochure_new.htm. You are encouraged to apply as early as possible. If you need financial aid to make payment, please allow at least four weeks for processing. Completed applications received by March 1 will receive priority consideration for all financial aid funds. Financial aid applications received after the March 1 priority-filing date will continue to be considered during the school year. Applicant materials may be mailed to NVCC, College Financial Aid Office, Forbes Office Center, Annandale, VA 22003-3796.

VETERANS BENEFITS
If you are applying for or are receiving educational benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs, you must contact a campus veterans advisor each semester to complete the necessary forms to establish and maintain your eligibility for benefits. Any changes must also be reported promptly to the veterans advisor. See the College Catalog or the College Web site at www.nvcc.edu/finance/vaWeb for further information.
