         TRAIL ACCESSIBILTY

          Explore issues in trail design and
          trail accessibility for park visitors
          Students earn their Trail Assess-
          ment. Coordinators certification by
          successfully completing the UTAP
          program. Students will assess,
          measure and prepare a final report
          for the NPS on island trails using
          the UTAP process.

         ECOTOURISM

          Explore ecotourism issues specific
          to St. John National Park in the
          US Virgin Island. Fieldwork will
          be to study & mitigate the impact of
          tourism on the island. Students work
          a minimum 40 hrs for NPS on special
          projects often involving strenuous
          physical labor, beach/trail clean up,
          or removal of exotic plant species.

          public land management associated
