          Sec 02n is a directed, interactive
          learning course taught via the
          Internet. Only limited classroom
          attendance is required. Students
          MUST attend classes on campus during
          the first two weeks of the course.
          Three exams will be taken at the
          Annandale Campus on specified
          dates. Students must have Internet
          access and be knowledgeable in
          computer and Internet usage. The
          instructor will be available
          on-campus during scheduled class time
          to provide individualized
          instruction, assistance, or support
          to individuals, or small groups of
          students. Self-discipline is
          required for establishing and
          maintaining a regular system of
          study. This course is also offered
          as SOC 236 - Criminology. Students
          may receive credit for only one of
          the criminology courses, ADJ or
          SOC. Additional information may be

          Course provides knowledge in the
          safe handling and operation of
          various firearms and the legal and
          moral responsibilities pertaining to
          them. Students MUST attend all
          classes during the first two weeks
          of the course, no late registrations.
          Required texts will be available in
          the Annandale Campus Book Store.
          Classes will alternate between
          classroom and various commercial
          shooting facilities in the
          No. VA. area (approx. 10-12
          visits). Students are responsible
          for their own transportation, plus
          paying range fees, ammunition
          purchase, ear/eye protection, and
          firearm rental (when needed). Note:
          rental firearms are available at only
          half of the shooting facilities to be
          visited, and min. age requirements
          may apply. Shooting fees can be
          substantial. Personal firearms may
          be used at all ranges. Students
          completing course will receive
          certifications for: NRA Home
          Firearm Safety Course, NRA
          Personal Protection Course, and
          the VA Hunter Safety Course.
          Combined classroom and lab (range)
          - 5 hours per week. Specific course

          historical cases of serial killing,

          figures. Students will have an
          opportunity to apply their profiling
          skills by reviewing actual cases.

          of financial fraud including the
          psychology of the criminal, the
          business climate, and the lack of
          internal controls that allow fraud to
          occur. We will learn how to uncover
          fraud and conduct a further

          examine financial documents.
