Career Studies Certificate

Purpose:  The Theatre Career Studies Certificate program is designed to meet the needs of individuals seeking to develop further skills in acting, directing, arts management, technical theatre, and theatre scholarship. It extends theatre opportunities outside of the classroom and into community, educational, and professional theatres.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One Year Core Courses

1st semester:
SPD 110 Introduction to Speech Communication or
      SPD 100 Principles of Public Speaking                   -3 cr.
SPD 130 Introduction to Theatre                          or
      SPD 141 Theatre Appreciation I                              -3 cr.
SPD 131 Acting I                                                          -3 cr.
                                                                    Subtotal = 9 credits
2nd semester:
SPD 136 Theatre Workshop                                          -3 cr.
*SPD Electives                                                              -6 cr.
                                                                      Subtotal =9 credits
