Jorge E. Figueredo
Executive Director, Hispanic Committee of Virginia
Jorge Figueredo is currently serving as Executive Director of the Hispanic Committee of Virginia (HCV), an organization that since 1967 has been providing direct services to Hispanic immigrants and the community at large, through social services, immigration, employment, youth and adult education, homebuyer counseling, microenterprise, and information and referral. The main goal of HCV is to enable Hispanic immigrants to more fully participate in and contribute to society, by providing the tools necessary to become self-sufficient. The Northern Virginia Health Care Workforce Alliance is very important because there are many people with unmet needs in our community, both new immigrants learning the language and system, as well as professionals who could be joining the health care industry but are not fully informed regarding career opportunities. He feels very humbled and honored to be invited and be a part of the Northern Virginia Health Care Workforce Alliance. He will continue to make a contribution through the knowledge acquired as an immigrant who has developed an understanding of the system.
