NOVAConnect, the student information system; Blackboard, the online course management system and the student email system are administered by the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). The same username and password are used to access each of them. If you do not know your Username and/or Password follow the directions below.

1. Click on the Log into NOVAConnect button.
   
   OR
   
   Log into NOVAConnect by clicking My NOVA on the NOVA home page. Click VCCS89:Student Information System.

2. If you are directed to a reminder page, read the information carefully and then click the Log Into NOVAConnect button on the bottom of the page.

3. When the new page appears, DO NOT fill in anything. Click on the Look Up Your Username link.
   

4. When the new page appears, now fill in your First Name, Last Name, Birthdate (MMDDYY) and social security number (SSN) or Student ID.
   

5. Click Search.

6. A box will appear that displays your username and Empl ID. Write both of these down, but do not share these with others.

7. If you would like to go directly to NOVAConnect, you may do so from this page by clicking on the Please Log In link and entering your username and password.

8. If you do not know your password, click please log in anyway. When you come to the login page, click Password Help to set your password.
   

9. The next page will ask you to fill in your First Name, Last Name, Birth date (MMDDYY) and social security number (SSN) again. Enter the information as directed.
   
   

   NOTE: If you do not have a social security number, call the IT Help Desk at 703.426.4141.

10. Enter a password in the Password box.
    
    Be sure your password has:
    • At least one uppercase letter
    • At least one lowercase letter
    • At least one number (0-9)
11. Retype your password in the Retype New Password box.
12. Enter or select a security question. You must provide a security question with an answer that only you will know. This question will be used if you need to reset your password in the future. You may either type your own security question into the box on the left or alternatively, click on one of the questions listed on the right. If you click on one of the questions provided in the list, the question will be entered into the security question box for you.
    
13. Enter the answer to the security question.
    * Pay attention to how you spell the answer, including capitalization, because if you ever have to use the security question to retrieve your password, you will have to type in the answer in exactly the same way that you enter it on this page.
14. When the new screen appears, enter your username and password and click Log in. It may take up to ten minutes for your new password to take effect.
15. Click on the second item on the left of the new screen titled VCCS SIS89:Student Information System to enter into the NOVAConnect system.

Remember to Sign Out to ensure the security and privacy of your account information.
