Username/Password Help

Find Your Username and Password

If you do not know your Username and your Password to access any of the following online systems:

  • Blackboard
  • NOVAConnect, the VCCS SIS: Student Information System,
  • Gmail
  • VCCS HRMS: Human Resource Management System, VCCS AIS: Administrative Information System,

follow the instructions below:

  1. From the NOVA Home Page, click the gold My NOVA tab at the top of the page.

  2. Below the My Username and My Password fields, click on New to your college? Look up your username and set your password.

  3. Fill in the requested information in the fields provided and click Search.
    NOTE: If you do not have a social security number, call the IT Help Desk at 703.426.4141. Make sure you have typed in your name exactly as it appears in our records. That is the name you use when you applied to the college.
  4. Complete steps 1 and 2 and click Next. Be sure your password has:
    • At least 8 characters but not more than 10
    • At least one uppercase letter
    • At least one lowercase letter
    • At least one number (0-9)
  5. When the final screen appears, use your new username and password to log into the system of your choice.

NOTE: At peak times, it may take up to 15-20 minutes for your new password to take effect. Please give it time before calling the Help Desk.

Reset Your Password

If you forgot your password, you can reset it on the web if NOVA has your social security number on file.

NOTE: If you are a student, MY NOVA password reset will only be successful if you provided your SSN on your original college application.

  1. Click on the gold My NOVA tab.
  2. Below the My Username and My Password fields, click on New to your college? Look up your username and set your password.
  3. Fill in the requested information in the fields provided and click Search.

  4. Answer the Security Question and click Submit.
  5. Complete steps 1 and 2 and click Next. Be sure your password has:

    • At least one lowercase letter
    • At least one number (0-9)
