NOVA #1 for Associate Degrees
July 24, 2012

Everyone at NOVA has new bragging rights. Our students earn more associate degrees than students at any other two-year institution and our graduation rate has increased substantially.
According to a new report by Community College Week, NOVA awarded 4,695 associate degrees during the 2010-11 academic year, nearly 22 percent more than the previous year. Houston Community College was a distant second with 3,606 associate degrees awarded.
The report also compared the number of associate degrees awarded by discipline and NOVA came out on top in two categories: “Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services” and “Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services.”
In addition, NOVA ranked first for the number of Asian-Americans who earned associate degrees with 758 graduates, 5 percent more than the previous year.
The full report, “Top 100 Associate Degree Producers 2012,” is available at http://www.ccweek.com/.
Congratulations to our students and the faculty and staff who helped them achieve their goals.
