Northern Virginia Community College’s Alexandria Campus will host NOVA STEM Day for community youth from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 5000 Dawes Ave., Alexandria, VA 22311. This event is one of several organized by SySTEMic Solutions, NOVA’s STEM outreach program, on different NOVA campuses throughout the year.
NOVA SySTEMic Solutions organizes NOVA STEM Days in an effort to provide youth with a showcase of opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math. NOVA STEM Day at the Alexandria Campus will be designed for students of all ages and feature hands-on exhibits and workshops presented by NOVA faculty, local schools and community groups. This event is a learning experience for everyone and is free and open to the public.
Lunch is not provided for this event; however, food trucks will be on site with a variety of lunch options. Food trucks expected to be on campus during NOVA STEM Day include Fast Break Food Truck, The Big Cheese and Captain Cookie and the Milkman.
Free parking will be available in the Dawes Street Parking Garage. NOVA STEM Day participants are asked to register prior to attending the event. NOVA SySTEMic Solutions is also looking for additional sponsors, exhibitors and volunteers to assist throughout the day.
