The Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College is hosting a free workshop on Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help skilled immigrants find meaningful employment in the United States.
“Rebuilding Your Professional Career in the U.S.” will explain how immigrants can validate prior learning from abroad for U.S. employment, match their experience with employer needs, market their skills to U.S. employers, obtain college credit for workforce experience, and more.
Representatives from several fields, including health careers, information technology, engineering, business and teacher education, will provide helpful information.
Organized in collaboration with Upwardly Global, SkillSouce Group, EducateVA, SySTEMic Solutions and other partners, the workshop is intended to help address and eliminate barriers that prevent skilled immigrants from integrating into the professional U.S. workforce.
NOVA-Manassas is at 6901 Sudley Road, just north of I-66. To register or learn more, contact Judith James at email@example.com.
