'Zombies' to invade NOVA campuses to promote disaster preparedness, Sept. 24-25

Hollywood-quality zombies are coming to the Annandale and Loudoun campuses of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA)! Professionally made-up zombies will be unleashed to share disaster preparedness information during National Preparedness Month.

Zombies will move as a pack across the campuses handing out informational and promotional material. Zombies at the Loudoun Campus will also take part in a choreographed dance. A festival-like atmosphere will be created with zombie-themed music, educational tables, and hands-on emergency demonstrations. There will also be a zombie “selfie” photo table so students can take pictures with a Hollywood-quality zombie.

September is National Preparedness Month and NOVA is using zombies as a way to share disaster preparedness information with the community. Information to be shared includes how to make an emergency kit, how to create an emergency plan, and what to do in an emergency.
