Northern Virginia Community College will partner again with NBC4 (WRC-TV) for a Community Shred on Saturday, March 15. The event will take place at the Annandale Campus from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the B-15 parking lot.
For those planning on attending, please plan to be in line by 11 a.m. There is a five-box maximum, and organizers ask that attendees do not bring batteries, flammables, electronic equipment, CDs or DVDs, or binders.
This is the eighth time that NOVA has hosted this popular event. Last year, there were over 2,000 cars and trucks that drove through and dropped off boxes of personal papers to one of 12 shredding trucks supplied by the Shred-It Company.
Every year, NBC4 partners with Allstate and Shred-It to bring the metropolitan Washington D.C. area Community Shred events. Fairfax County’s Office of Solid Waste Management helps NOVA Police officers and parking staff set up the parking lot to accommodate the large amount of incoming cars.
