The music department at NOVA-Alexandria will close out the academic year with an uplifting spring concert. “Close to Home: An evening with American Composers” will include performances by The NOVA Community Chorus, the NOVA Alexandria Band and the NOVA Alexandria Jazz Ensemble.
Music selections will include "Rockin' in Rhythm" by Duke Ellington, "Jamie" by Sammy Nestico, "Frostiana: Seven Country Songs" by Randall Thompson featuring the poetry of Robert Frost, "Variations on a Shaker Melody" by Aaron Copland, and "Overture to Candide" by Leonard Bernstein. The concert is free and open to the public.
