A delegation of educators from the Shunyi District Education Commission of Beijing recently visited the Woodbridge Campus of Northern Virginia Community College to learn about American community colleges and how the two-year institutions fit into the higher education system.
In addition to participating in several presentations at NOVA, the educators visited local elementary, middle and high schools where they met with administrators, teachers and students.
This was the latest visit of Chinese educators coordinated by NOVA’s American Culture and Language Institute. In January, another group of 20 delegates participated in a similar program. In February, more than 150 Chinese students received three days of intensive English training conducted by the Institute’s teachers.
