Nikki Giovanni will read her poetry and sign books at 8 p.m. on Oct. 20 at the Loudoun Campus of Northern Virginia Community College. Giovanni is the author of 27 books and a GRAMMY nominee for The Nikki Giovanni Poetry Collection. She is a five-time NAACP Image Award winner and the first recipient of the Rosa Parks Woman of Courage Award. She holds the Langston Hughes Medal for Outstanding Poetry and is an Oprah Living Legend. Giovanni is a University Distinguished Professor at Virginia Tech.
