Reaffirmation of Accreditation Progress

Online and telephone registration for Northern Virginia Community College’s spring semester will continue during NOVA’s winter break, Dec. 23 to Jan. 2..

Veterinary Technology Program Receives Full Reaccreditation Status

Assistant Dean Tregel Cockburn and Distant Learning Chair Mary Aller, both of NOVA’s Veterinary Technology Program, are pleased to announce that full reaccreditation status has been granted by the governing body of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA).

NOVA Students to Greet WWII Veterans on Honor Flight Network

Students, faculty and staff from NOVA's Alexandria Campus will participate in the Honor Flight Network and greet WWII veterans as they arrive at Ronald Reagan National Airport. Along with participants, our NOVA Band will have 25 of their members at the gate performing for the veterans.

Veterinary Technology Open House

The veterinary technology program at the Loudoun Campus of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) will celebrate National Veterinary Technician Week with a free Open House on Oct. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. Attendees can tour the veterinary hospital and enjoy children’s activities.

Nikki Giovanni will read her poetry and sign books at 8 p.m. on Oct. 20 at the Loudoun Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.

NOVA College Board Meeting Scheduled for Sept. 20

The Northern Virginia Community College Board will meet on Monday, Sept. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Provost’s Conference Room 233 at NOVA’s Woodbridge Campus, 15200 Neabsco Mills Road.

History Professor Terry Alford Receives Outstanding Faculty Award

Dr. Terry Alford, professor at the Annandale Campus of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), has received the 2010 Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia and Dominion. Twelve faculty members from Virginia’s public and private colleges were chosen out of 117 nominees, as the highest honor bestowed upon faculty in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

NOVA to Sponsor First Annual Day of Service Jan. 18

Northern Virginia Community College will sponsor its first Day of Service Jan. 18, with two on-campus and two-off-campus service projects for which more than 100 NOVA students, faculty, staff, and members of the community have committed to volunteer their time.
