NOVA's 44th Commencement was held on May 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Patriot Center at George Mason University.
Virginia Secretary of Education Gerard Robinson, a community college graduate, gave the keynote speech. Prior to joining Governor Bob McDonnell's cabinet, Robinson was the president of the Black Alliance for Educational Options. His background includes extensive experience in urban school reform and policy development.
As always, NOVA faculty and staff enjoyed seeing graduates participate in this time-honored ceremony.
