Senior Citizens Holiday Celebration at NOVA-Manassas

More than 150 local seniors attended the 2013 Senior Citizens Holiday Celebration at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.
NBC-4 meteorologist Chuck Bell helped Santa distribute gifts to the guests at the Senior Citizens Holiday Celebration at NOVA-Manassas.
Manassas Mayor Hal Parrish and Provost Roger Ramsammy enjoyed the musical entertainment during the Senior Citizens Holiday Celebration at NOVA-Manassas.

More than 150 seniors enjoyed the 22nd annual Senior Citizens Holiday Celebration on Thursday, Dec. 5 at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.

Provost Roger Ramsammy welcomed the guests and introduced Mayor Harry J. “Hal” Parrish II who conveyed greetings from the City of Manassas. For the third year, NBC-4 meteorologist Chuck Bell served as the master of ceremonies.

Guests were treated to a delicious meal, musical entertainment performed by NOVA students and Men in Song, and a visit from Santa who posed for photos and distributed gifts.

Every senior received at least one gift thanks to the generosity of NOVA employees and the following local businesses and organizations: Advertising Etc., Chick-fil-A, Chili’s, Lifelong Learning Institute of Manassas, Olive Garden, Potomac Nationals, Roy Rogers, Signs by Tomorrow and Walgreens.

The free event is organized by NOVA faculty, staff and students as a community service.
