NOVA-Manassas honor society inducts record number of new members

At its spring 2012 induction ceremony, the Alpha Iota Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa inducted 100 new members, the largest number of new members added to the chapter. The Alpha Iota Zeta chapter is at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.
Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education with more than 1,280 chapters on two-year and community college campuses in the United States, Canada, Germany, Peru, Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, British Virgin Islands, United Arab Emirates and U.S. territorial possessions.
The guest speaker for the induction ceremony was English Professor Jean Goodine who founded the Manassas Campus chapter in 1983. New officers are President Brian Henley (Bealeton), Vice President Alexander Longhi (Nokesville), Treasurer Luke Lapham (Gainesville) and Secretary Mariya Podeyko (Warrenton).
