National DNA Day Celebration April 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What
Northern Virginia Community College’s Manassas Campus will celebrate National DNA Day on Monday, April 23 with special guest speaker Rosana Hizon from the FBI Lab. (Please note: this event is for NOVA students only and not open to the public.)

10 a.m. to noon, Colgan Theater:

  • Welcome message:  Dean of Students Mark Kidd
  • DNA Day speech:  Student Sundas Raja
  • Guest speaker: Rosana Hizon, DNA Examiner, FBI Lab
  • DNA art contest award ceremony

Noon to 2 p.m., Mary Louise Jackson Amphitheater (weather permitting):

  • Live music
  • Hands-on DNA activities
  • Food, fun and games
  • Raffle for an  iPad
