Celebrate International Education Week at NOVA

The community is invited to commemorate International Education Week, Nov. 15 to 19, with several free events at Northern Virginia Community College.
On Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. at NOVA’s Alexandria Campus, David Smith, national educational outreach officer at the United States Institute of Peace, will present an overview of the institute, discuss world conflicts, and talk about careers in the field of international peace building and conflict resolution. On Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., NOVA’s Woodbridge Campus will present the documentary “Crossing Borders.” The film about American and Moroccan students who travel together at a time of world tensions received the Best International Documentary Feature Film award in 2009. International Education Week is an opportunity for exchange students worldwide to share their cultures with their host communities and highlight the benefits of international educational exchange programs.
