NOVA Students to Greet WWII Veterans on Honor Flight Network

October 13, 2010

What:
Students, faculty and staff from NOVA's Alexandria Campus will participate in the Honor Flight Network and greet WWII veterans as they arrive at Ronald Reagan National Airport. Along with participants, our NOVA Band will have 25 of their members at the gate performing for the veterans. Following the reception, NOVA participants will accompany the veterans to the WWII Memorial.

The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. They transport veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans—World War II survivors, along with other veterans who may be terminally ill.

When:
October 13 at 9 a.m.

Where:
Ronald Reagan Washington National
Arlington, VA 22202

For Media:
The flight is chartered by US Air and there will be a stand with red, white and blue balloons where representatives will distribute boarding passes, validate tickets, and help direct traffic to the gate. For more information, please contact Ken Balbuena at 703-845-6061 or kpbalbuena@nvcc.edu
