Northern Virginia Community College Board meeting scheduled for May 17

The Northern Virginia Community College Board will meet on Monday, May 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. in Bisdorf Room 293 at NOVA’s Alexandria Campus, 3001 North Beauregard Street.
During the meeting, History Professor Terry Alford will be recognized for receiving the Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia and student Karima Ben Ayed of Alexandria will be recognized for receiving the Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation.
Other items on the agenda include a special report on the Alexandria Campus, highlights of the 2009-10 academic year, budget outlook, an update on the Presidential Commission on Safety and Security, and the announcement of the new Loudoun Campus provost.
