Pulitzer Prize Winner David Finkel Scheduled to Speak for Veterans Day

In honor of Veterans Day, the Alexandria Campus of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) will host a presentation by Pulitzer Prize winner Dave Finkel on his latest novel “The Good Soldiers,” followed by a book-signing. The presentation will take place on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. in room 196 of the Bisdorf Building. The event is free and open to the public.

Finkel’s novel “The Good Soldiers,” gives an account of what happened to a battalion of U.S. soldiers during “the surge” of the Iraq war. An editor and writer for the Washington Post, he has reported from Africa, Asia, Central America and Europe, and was part of the Post’s war coverage in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq. Among his journalism honors is a Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting in 2006.
