Alexandria Campus Offers Free Tax Preparation to Low-Income Families

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at the Alexandria Campus of Northern Virginia Community College is offering free tax preparation assistance to working families and individuals with maximum incomes of $42,000. The tax preparers are trained and certified by the Internal Revenue Service through the VITA program. The service is offered in partnership with Fairfax County Department of Family Services, Volunteer Fairfax and the Northern Virginia Cash Campaign.
The free tax preparation service will be provided every Saturday between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Appointments are required.
