Kids can go to college this summer at Northern Virginia Community College

May 21, 2008

Northern Virginia Community College is offering a variety of fun College for Kids camps this summer at both Prince William County campuses.

“Theater Camp” will be held at the Woodbridge Campus starting June 16 and repeated at the Manassas Campus beginning July 28. The camp runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, for three weeks. On the last day, campers will demonstrate what they learned in a performance for family and friends.

Ages 8 to 10 might enjoy “College for Kids Idol.” Based on the popular television show, this class will help campers develop singing, dancing and other talents. The three-week camp runs from 2 to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, starting July 7 at the Woodbridge Campus and July 28 at the Manassas Campus.

Two language camps are offered. “German Language” starts June 16 at the Manassas Campus and July 28 at the Woodbridge Campus, and runs from 1 to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, for three weeks. “Spanish Camp” starts June 16 at the Woodbridge Campus and July 7 at the Manassas Campus and meets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, for two weeks.

Other camps include “Crime, Punishment and Justice,” “Keyboarding/Word Processing,” “Let Your Fingers Do the Talking,” “Make No Bones About It,” “Praise Team Dance” and “Super Book Club.” Camps that focus on soccer and tennis skills are also available.
