NOVA and Fairfax County Park Authority Sponsor Ghost Train at Burke Lake Park

October 10, 2008

Take a fun ride on the Ghost Train during the last weekend in October. Co-sponsored by Northern Virginia Community College’s recreation and parks program and the Fairfax County Park Authority, this annual event will take place on Oct. 25 and 26 at Burke Lake Park.

Participants will ride the Ghost Train through the Haunted Woods, past the Witches Junction and through the Fairytale Loop. At the infamous Pumpkin Patch, the pumpkins come alive and give tasty treats to the passengers. The program is appropriate for children through the age of 10 and the train is accessible to all riders. Costumes are encouraged.

The event starts each day at 10 a.m. and runs until 5:15 p.m. Tickets will be available at the train station for $4 on the days of the event. Children under the age of two ride for free. Ticket sales will end at 4:30 p.m. Burke Lake Park is located at 7315 Ox Road in Fairfax Station.

For more information, call NOVA’s recreation and parks program at 703-323-3230.
