NOVA to Host Free Expo for New Plus 50 Program

On June 23 at 9 a.m., the Alexandria Campus of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) will be hosting a free Ageless Learning Resource Symposium for anyone interested in learning more about our Plus 50 program. The program is designed for students over the age of 50, who are looking for enhancement offerings in workforce training, career development, personal enrichment and volunteering.
The Symposium will offer concurrent workshops in Resume Writing, Using Social Networks for Personal and Professional Enrichment, Expanding Your Resume into a CV or Portfolio and What will I do when Work becomes an Option?
Also on hand will be several select employers to speak with Symposium attendees about career opportunities. Some of these employers include: GEICO, Fairfax County Public Schools, Altos Federal Group, Securitas Security Services USA and Wachovia Bank. A keynote address will be presented by Ed Redfern, Senior Project Manager, American Association of Retired Persons. Both Continuing Education and Extended Learning Institute staff will be available to speak with attendees about non-credit courses and on-line credit courses.
