NOVA students presenting mock political conventions
February 22, 2012 10:00 AM
Students in an “American National Politics” class at Northern Virginia Community College will participate in mock political conventions Feb. 28.
At the beginning of the semester, the students were divided into “Democrats” and “Republicans.” They have spent the last few weeks researching party platforms and key elected officials and will use the conventions to demonstrate what they have learned about party policies, particularly differences between the parties.
The class meets in the evening at NOVA’s Reston Center (1831 Wiehle Ave.). The Reston Center is affiliated with NOVA’s Loudoun Campus.
To attend the presentations, contact instructor Rosemarie Pelletier at 703-777-8987 (office), 703-728-9304 (cell) or rapelletier@patriot.net for more information.
