Media opportunity: Ribbon-cutting ceremony for new building at NOVA-Loudoun

On Sept. 24 at 4 p.m., state representatives, local officials and Northern Virginia Community College administrators will formally open the Higher Education Center at NOVA’s Loudoun Campus.

The 42,000-square-foot Higher Education Center includes a state-of-the-art music recording studio, high-tech collaborative classrooms, specialized lab for communication classes, several computer labs, faculty suites, window wall overlooking the campus lake, and inviting lounge areas.

Part of the second floor is cantilevered over the lake offering beautiful views in three directions from the multipurpose event space.

Environmentally friendly features include a geothermal field for heating and cooling and a green roof with a water collection system. The building is targeted for LEED Silver certification.

Perkins Eastman was the architect and Sigal Construction Corporation managed the project.

NOVA-Loudoun is located at 21200 Campus Drive in Sterling. To learn more, contact Tatyana Schum at 703-450-2520 or tschum@nvcc.edu.
