Northern Virginia Community College’s Alexandria Campus will host Elect Her, the College-wide training program encouraging women students to run for student government and to consider a future in politics. The program is an effort to diminish the political leadership gender gap for women.
Elect Her, also referred to as NOVA Women Win!, is a collaboration with the American Association of University Women (AAUW), Running Start and the NOVA-Alexandria Women’s Center. This year, speakers include Alexandria Mayor Allison Silberberg and Ignacia S. Moreno, former Assistant Attorney General for the U.S. Department of Justice Environment and Natural Resources Division.
The Elect Her training program will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at NOVA-Alexandria, 5000 Dawes Avenue, Alexandria, VA, Bisdorf Building Room 158.
Seating for this event is limited to 50 students. Contact Pat Gordon at firstname.lastname@example.org for information about registration and availability.
