NOVA and local elementary and middle school students to take center stage
The Northern Virginia Community College NOVA Alexandria Band, the John Adams Elementary School Orff Ensemble and the George Washington Middle School Jazz Band will perform a variety of musical selections as part of the Children’s Concert. The concert reflects the Alexandria Campus’s commitment to its community and is also a celebration of music education in the city’s local schools.
Music will include selections by Richard Wagner, Carl Orff, Henry Fillmore, Mark Camphouse, Dizzy Gillespie, and Alfred Reed. The evening will also include a recognition ceremony for student winners from the Alexandria City Public Schools in the visual and performing arts categories of the National PTA Reflections Programs.
The Grand Finale will include a combined performance by the NOVA Alexandria Band and area elementary and middle school students. The concert is free and open to the public. Parking is free in the Beauregard Street Garage.
