Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) is in partnership with local producers is producing an all new reality show casting higher–ed students only called AVON. This show is based off of the popular TV show Survivor and will contain Survivor like challenges throughout the season. The challenges will include the students balancing their education with their work and social lives.
“It’s been a little hush-hush for a while because we don’t want to show our whole hand,” said Tank McCarl, the Student Life Program Manager, Annandale Campus. “But I think students are going to be pumped to see this thing when it comes out. I just think it’s cool that we were able to get Ian Ziering to host it, I mean I grew up watching him.”
Casting directors can be found on each campus scouting out potential candidates to participate in the show beginning on April 10. Candidates will be asked to perform various tasks to prove their ability to participate in the show. Each candidate will need to provide proof of enrollment with at least a part-time status. Students with full-time enrollment status are preferred.
Interested students should attend the interest meetings that will be held at campus. Students should bring their resume and their proof of enrollment.
The premiere of this show will be September 15 at 8 p.m.
