Job Expo on Thursday, February 3, 2005 from 1pm - 7pm at the MEC (first floor)
This Job Expo has over 24 area healthcare organizations registered to fill all types of allied health and nursing positions. This is also a great way to find out what types of jobs, company requirements, and company information are out there too. INOVA, Kaiser Permanente, Fairfax Fire and Rescue, Radiology Imaging Associates, Team Placement, Sibley Hospital, National Rehabilitation Hospital, Medicorp, and many others will be there looking for employees. This event is free (parking is a $1.00 an hour for those without current NVCC parking stickers) and open to everyone so bring and tell your friends, family, fellow students, and co-workers about this opportunity.
Student Services will be offering two mini workshops on Resume Writing and Interviewing.
Mini Workshop #1: “Effective Resumes and Interviewing Strategies that get you Hired" , Tuesday 2/1/05, 3-4:30pm, facilitated by Renee Froelke Ms. Froelke is the President and Owner of Brent Associates, which specializes in permanent medical placement for the Metro area with a client base of over 300 medical private practices, 3 Hospitals, and numerous ancillary health services. Ms. Froelke will also be attending the job fair on Thursday with close to 80 positions to fill. Ms. Froelke has been a career consultant and recruiter trainer since 1987 as well as a former public school teacher. Come take advantage of this great free opportunity.
Mini Workshop #2: “The ABCs of Resumes and Interviewing”, Wednesday 2/2/05, 12:30 – 2pm, facilitated by Kelly Daley.
Ms. Daley is the Medical Education Campus counselor and disability services provider. Ms. Daley has taught resume writing, interviewing, and job searching in a number of academic settings, including classes for healthcare students. This is a free workshop, and students from Tuesday’s workshop with additional questions may attend this as well.
