ACCIDENT

Students and Visitors:

Northern Virginia Community College in its efforts toward elimination of conditions and procedures that contribute to injuries has developed the Accidental Injury Report Form – NVCC 125-88 (available in either .rtf or .pdf). If an accident or injury occurs on Campus the form should be completed and submitted through Campus Business Manager to Risk Manager Office.

Employees:

“The Virginia Worker’s Compensation Act which covers injuries and illnesses that arise specifically as a result of an individual's job duties. In order for an accident to be compensable under the VWCA, it must arise out of and in the course of employment.  This means that not all injuries that simply happen at work are compensable under the Act.

In order to report the injury to Richmond for worker's compensation benefits certain procedures and forms must be followed.  The forms are also available on the NVCC website at www.nvcc.edu/hr.  You will find a link on the left side of that page for Worker's Comp.
