The NOVA Manassas Campus Testing and Tutoring Center provides students with additional assistance with class work and assigned papers. Peer, staff and volunteer tutors work one-on-one and in small groups to assist students with written assignments, class concepts, and exam preparation. Students meet with tutors by scheduled 30 minute to 1 hour appointments, or by using walk-in tutoring services. Students should come prepared with textbook, notes, and any other materials needed for a successful tutoring appointment; for writing appointments this includes a printed copy of the paper; for math appointments, tutors can only assist with math problems printed in a textbook.

Missed Appointment Policy
  • If you cannot be here for your scheduled appointment, please cancel online, stop by the center, or call 703.257.6699 by 5:00 pm the night before your appointment.
  • If you do not cancel your appointment or if you arrive later than 15 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, this will count as a no-show.
  • If you cancel your appointment on the same day, this will count as a same day call-cancel.
  • If you have two no-shows, or two same day call-cancels in one semester, you will not be allowed to schedule appointments for that semester.
  • Students with two no-shows or two same day call-cancels will need to take advantage of walk-in hours when they are available.
  • Walk-in appointment schedules will be posted on the Testing and Tutoring Center bulletin board in the hallway outside of MH-112.

The Tutoring Center also provides Tutoring Center Orientations upon request for faculty who wish to familiarize their students with the center's offerings. We present periodic workshops throughout the semester on topics relating to academic, professional, and personal success. Students should check their NOVA email, or the Testing and Tutoring Center bulletin board for information on upcoming workshops. The Manassas Campus Testing and Tutoring Center is located in Howsman Hall, Room 112.
