Articles   |   Books  |   Websites

Literary criticism is the analysis, interpretation, evaluation, and description of literary works. It is usually written to enhance the reader's understanding of a literary work. Criticism can be both positive and negative and is usually in the form of an essay. The library has databases, books, and websites that will help you find literary criticism.

The best way to search for articles is to use a database. Databases will help you find articles that were originally published in magazines, journals, and newspapers. Although the databases are used via the Internet, the articles you will find are not considered "Internet sources".

Specialized Literary Databases:

JSTOR
Literature Resource Center
MLA International Bibliography
Project Muse

General Databases:

These databases cover many topics, including literary criticism.
