Library of Congress Subject Headings:

Most college libraries use the Library of Congress subject headings to organize their books.
The letters represent different subject areas. Check these sections for ADJ-related books:

HV:   Social Pathology. Social and Public Welfare. Criminology. 
KF:    Law of the United States
KFV:  Law of Virginia
