 What is a CEU?
Continuing Education Units are a nationally recognized standard unit of measurement that has been adopted for post-secondary courses not carrying academic credit. One CEU is awarded for every ten classroom hours, provided the participant successfully completes the requirements. Permanent CEU records will be maintained by NVCC. CEUs are increasingly accepted as evidence of educational accomplishment and for professional certification. The CEU designation, if applicable, appears under the course code.

Six Ways to Get Your Company to Send You to a Course
  1. Ask! A verbal request is often all it takes.  An e-mail is even better.
  2. Show the Brochure. Get them to read it. Attach it to your memo.
  3. Stress the Benefits.  Classes can help you stay fired up and ready for new challenges.
  4. Emphasize the Convenience.  Why go elsewhere when quality training is available right here.
  5. Compare the Price!  Your supervisor will be pleased to know he/she is paying less for quality instruction..
  6. New Tax Benefit.  Virginia employers receive a state tax credit of 30% for training costs for full-time employees.
