 ACC212-Principles of Accounting ll

1. COURSE INFORMATION:

   Acc 212  Principles of Accounting ll       (3 credit hours)

   Accounting principles and practices applied to transactions and    events affecting corporations; managerial accounting and           reports; financial statement analysis and interpretations.         lecture 3  hours per week.

2. GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE:

   This course is designed to complete the objectives Accounting
   Principles l and to give successful students the basic ability
   account for and manage the financial affairs of a small to
   medium-size business activity in a professionally acceptable
   manner.

3. ENTRY-LEVEL COMPETENCIES:

   Satisfactory completion of ACC 211

4. COURSE OBJECTIVE/EDUCATIONAL OUTCOME:

   Students will learn to install and operate conventional            accounting systems for typical business enterprises, and
   to operate effectively in financial planning and decion-
   making responsibilities of those enterprises.

5. MAJOR TOPICS TO BE COVERED:

   a. Organization and initial operations of a corporation.
   b. Financing through issue of bonds.
   c. Stock splits, dividends, stock redemption; and conversions
   d. Statement of Cash flows
   e. Financial statement analysis and interpretations.
   f. Budgets and standard costs.
   g. Cost volume and profit analysis.
   h. Responsibility accounting.
   j. Accounting for manufacturing operations.
   k. Consolidated financial statements.
 

6. ACADEMIC INTEGRITY:

   Cheating and plagiarism will not be tolerated and will be dealt
   with according to the rules of the college.

7. EXAMS AND TESTS:

   All exams and tests must be taken on the date specified. If an
   exam is not taken without prior permission of the professor,
   no make up will be allowed and will mean ZERO for that exam.

8. HOMEWORK AND PRACTICE SET:

   Homework and practice set must be done on the date specified.
   Late homework and practice set will not be accepted for grade.
   
   Practice set Gold Run Snowmobile is optional. If you decide to     do it, it is due on or before April 30, 2002.    

9. TEXT BOOK:

   Fundamental Accounting Principles by Larson & Chiapetta, 
   15th Edition with working papers and study guide.
