Please visit the NVCC Financial Aid
website:
Paying for College.
In order to apply for financial aid you must submit a FAFSA
(Free Application for Federal Student Aid) every school
year. The fastest way to submit a FAFSA is online at
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
If you are a first time applicant you may want to visit
New Student Financial Aid for
additional information.
Please log into our Student Information System,
NovaConnect, at
https://nvcc.my.vccs.edu one week after submitting your
FAFSA and periodically throughout the term. Be sure to update
your “User Preferences” to the current term and then check
your “To Do List” to see if the college financial aid office
needs any additional documentation from you.
If you qualify for aid then your award will be posted on
NovaConnect under “View Financial Aid.” If nothing appears
when you click on the “Aid Year” link then you have not yet
been awarded. It usually takes at least six weeks for your
FAFSA to be reviewed, so please submit it early. Remember,
only “anticipated” financial aid can hold your classes. Your
award may be adjusted after drop/add ends each semester if you
are enrolled in less than 12 credits.
Be sure to read the section in your student handbook
governing Satisfactory Academic Progress, as this can affect
your future eligibility for financial aid.
