On-line Advising
"Ask a Counselor"

Hello!  Your question can be sent to a counselor at the Loudoun campus by clicking on the “Ask A Counselor” link below.  In order to participate in online advising, please first read the on-line advising guidelines below.

  1. Before asking your question, please read the Frequently Asked Questions During Registration.

  2. You must use your NVCC college email account in order to participate in on-line advising.  Click here to open up a NVCC College E-mail Account.
  3. Counselors can look at your student record and give you advice on course selection, transfer, and graduation requirements if you use your NVCC college email account.
  4. If you use an e-mail account other than a NVCC college e-mail account (i.e. AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail), counselors can only provide general information about NVCC policies and programs by e-mail.
  5. Loudoun Campus Counselors maintain confidentiality, however there is no guarantee that your e-mail will remain confidential as the Internet is not absolutely secure.
  6. Some questions may be too complex to answer through e-mail or require divulging private information. In these instances, we may require that you provide a telephone number to call you or we will invite you to come in person to one of the Counseling Centers http://www.nvcc.edu/stuservices/cs-centers.htm for assistance.
  7. Our staff checks e-mail regularly and will make every attempt to reply within two working days.  However, during peak registration periods a response may take longer.
