Precalculus and Trigonometry

Prerequisites
are competency in Math Essentials Units MTE 1-9 as demonstrated through the
placement and diagnostic tests, or by completion through unit 9 in an MTT
course. Presents college algebra, analytic geometry, trigonometry, and
algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions. (Credit cannot be
awarded for both MTH 163 and MTH 166.) Lecture 5 hours per week.

Current Textbook:
Precalculus: Enhanced with Graphing Utilities, 6th edition, by Sullivan.
A graphing calculator is required for this course. The strongly preferred
models are the TI-83-plus or 84-plus. Instruction on these models will
be provided. For all other models, students will have to refer to the
users' manual. There are calculator resources on reserve in the library.
