NOVA's
certificate program in historic preservation is designed to meet the needs of those
seeking to develop or refine research, analytical, and field skills in historic
preservation, archaeology, and museum studies. Ours
is the only such program, at either the graduate or undergraduate level, in Northern
Virginia, and is offered exclusively at NOVA's Loudoun Campus. The eight-course curriculum was designed by nationally-known preservation professionals and prominent local government and community leaders, inspired by our locality's abundance of historic structures, archaeological sites, and battlefields and by the need for preservation professionals in both the public and private sector working as field archaeology assistants, site managers, museum staff, preservation consultants, and exterior/interior renovators.
