Examples of course integrated assignments

BIO102 --- locating an article in Biological Bulletin; answering specific questions about content, authors

BUS100 – finding credible information for weekly assignments related to current business topics -- multiple orientation sessions offered for extra credit outside of class time.
ENG 111/112 - finding supporting documentation for argumentative, literary research papers

ENV136 ---- finding/ evaluating 3 web sites using specified evaluation criteria, presenting 1 site to class
ESL13 -- using pre-selected articles to develop critical reading skills
MATH - Fun with Fibonacci using Fibonacci to teach Internet searching

Mistakes to avoid

Open ended assignments accepting information from any type of source.
"don’t look at Wikipedia"– sets student up to be dishonest – teach students how to use it responsibly -- external links, notes, references.

    3. EMPL ID
     necessary to receive assistance from HELP desk
     numerical id which appears on NOVA student photo id card
     NOVA id card necessary to print on campus
     id cards (free) available from LR241 – Business office
     students should add $1 - $2 to cover printing costs
