Addiction

Prescription drugs can be beneficial but also potentially addictive.  Recent reports of  radio personality, Rush Limbaugh's addiction to painkillers illuminates a growing problem. Doctors say that the treatment is the same as any other addiction such as heroin, cocaine, tobacco or alcohol.  An estimated 4.4 million Americans misuse painkillers by either taking more than the prescribed amount or by continuing to take the drug longer than they have to.
