Celebrations/Events

Black History Month is an opportunity for everyone to gain more knowledge about the African American's heritage, history, culture and contributions made to this society.  Our global journey will take you to Western Africa where the European nations started the Slave Trade.  During the 15th through 19th centuries  millions of slaves made the journey to European colonies and to the Americas. Slavery was a well organized labor force focused on achieving economic wealth.  It was also a socioeconomic complex held together by laws and customs.
