Project Management
The Project Management Certificate provides students with project management skills that they can apply immediately to their work situation, helping their organization meet its internal and external challenges. These courses use the latest version of the Project Management Institute's (PMI) Body of Knowledge (PMBOK version 4, 2008). Students will gain knowledge of the five basic process groups (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, and Closing). The courses address in detail the following process areas: planning, integration management, scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, human resource management, communication management, risk management, and procurement management. To complete the certificate program, participants must take all required courses. The Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Professional Development Units (PDUs) awarded for the Project Management Certificate courses satisfy the educational requirements to sit for both PMI project management certification exams. The classes offered by NOVA fall under PMI’s Category 4 designation. For further information, call the Office of Continuing Education at 703 450-2551.
